At Unity of South Bay, our Annual Burning Bowl Service is a very thought provoking experience, and is not about setting New Years Resolutions.
Rather it is a time to contemplate on what we are ready to let go of from the past, and focus on how we want to BE going forward.
Once the letting go list is put into the burning bowl, we write inspirational letters to ourselves, affirming our faith in moving to a higher ground. Then we put it in a sealed self addressed envelope, which will be mailed to us in June as a reminder of our commitment.
